Ce set de deux kokeshi a été imaginé pour la Fête des Filles (Hina matsuri), qui a lieu début mars. Les kokeshi représentent le couple impérial : l’empereur tient en sceptre, l’impératrice, un éventail. Les poupées ont toujours fait partie de cette célébration, vieille de plus d’un millénaire.
Komatsu Rika amène de la fantaisie dans la tradition en décorant les deux kokeshi de façon à imiter une fraise !

This set of two kokeshi and their base was designed for the Girls' Festival (Hina matsuri), which takes place in early March. The kokeshi represent the imperial couple: the emperor holds a sceptre, the empress a fan. Dolls have always been part of this celebration, which is over a thousand years old.
The base is worked in "biriganna": a textured effect applied in a circular fashion.

- Handcrafted by Kamata Takashi, a Yajiro artisan
- Total height: 11 cm (4,3 in); kokeshi’s height: 8 and 9 cm (3,1 and 3,5 in)
- Dogwood and dyes, waxed.
