Petite kokeshi "kiku" by Aoki Ryoka x RéKa Toth-Vasarhelyi
Cette toute petite kokeshi a une histoire formidable !
Si vous êtes collectionneur de kokeshi créatives, cette forme vous dit peut-être quelque chose... c'est la célèbre kokeshi "Kiku" (chrysanthème), créée par Aoki Ryoka dans les années 60. Le modèle séduit l'impératrice Michiko, et tous les Japonais avec. "Kiku" sera produite en de très nombreux exemplaires, pendant toute la vie professonnelle de Aoki-sensei, en différentes tailles.
Avec l'âge, Aoki Ryoka (née en 1931) a peu à peu cessé de faire des kokeshi. Et de toutes petites "Kiku" sont restées au fond d'un carton... où Réka Toth-Vasarhelyi, habituée de l'atelier, les a dénichées.
En accord avec Aoki-sensei qui a été sa mentore de longues années, Réka les a nettoyées et leur a donné une nouvelle jeunesse !

This tiny kokeshi has a wonderful story!
If you're a collector of creative kokeshi, this shape might ring a bell... it's the famous ‘Kiku’ (chrysanthemum) kokeshi, created by Aoki Ryoka in the 60s. The model seduced Empress Michiko, and all the Japanese with it. ‘Kiku’ would be produced in large numbers throughout Aoki-sensei's professional life, in various sizes.
As she grew older, Aoki Ryoka (born 1931) gradually stopped making kokeshi. And some tiny “Kiku” remained at the bottom of a cardboard box... where Réka Toth-Vasarhelyi, a regular visitor to the workshop, unearthed them.
In agreement with Aoki-sensei, who was her mentor for many years, Réka cleaned them and gave them a new lease of life!
