Poupée kokeshi minimaliste par Ueda Koyu
Cette poupée kokeshi est peinte d’un chrysanthème dans le bas. Le col de kimono ainsi que les deux traits à la taile aident à s’imaginer un kimono. Contrairement à bien des kokeshi de ce style, celle-ci n’a pas de cercles concentriques sur le dessus de la tête.
Ueda Kouyou est un artisan installé récemment, établi à Shiroishi (Miyagi). . Il a été l’apprenti de Niiyama Minoru. Outre des kokeshi de style Yajiro, il fait également de nombreux jouets et toupies.

This kokeshi doll is painted with a chrysanthemum at the bottom. The kimono collar and the two lines at the waist help us to imagine a kimono. Unlike many kokeshi of this style, this one has no concentric circles on the top of the head.
Ueda Koyu is a recently established craftsman based in Shiroishi (Miyagi). He was apprenticed to Niiyama Minoru. As well as Yajiro-style kokeshi, he also makes a number of toys and spinning tops.
